Strategic Planning & Community Engagement
Phase One: Collective Feedback Illustration
The illustration below represents the key recommendations and insights summarized from more than 400 Milwaukee County residents about the future of our Parks System. Translating your input, we were able to articulate the North Star that will guide the planning process for the Foundation in the next phase. Feel free to download the image as a reference of the work completed in Phase One. We would like to recognize Sherrill Knezel of Meaningful Marks who partnered with us to design this visual graphic!
Phase One: Community Engagement
The Milwaukee Parks Foundation is undergoing a strategic planning process to identify key strategies that will help support and sustain a thriving parks system that will be enjoyable for everyone. P3 Development Group, a local professional services consulting firm, is working with the Foundation to develop a strategic agenda that advances its mission and vision.
The Foundation has concluded the first phase of the planning process during which we heard from more than 400 Milwaukee County residents about what they love about the parks and what they would like to see improved. The input collected was invaluable and will help guide the remainder of the strategic planning process.
The engagement conducted during phase one included public outreach events across the County at Grant, Veterans, Pulaski, Hoyt, Washington, and Lincoln Parks, along with input from a County-wide online survey. The strategic planning team also engaged several Milwaukee Parks statekholders over a series of virtual meetings where we heard from community organizations, Friends Groups, and other key stakeholders about the opportunities and challenges of the parks system.
Congratulations to Esperanza G. for being the winner selected for the gift card giveaway! Esperanza visited one of the park engagement stations during outreach and submitted her input card to be entered into the giveaway. We appreciate hers and everyone’s willingness to share suggestions and new ideas for the parks.
Below you will find a slideshow of photos taken during the outreach events and word cloud graphics highlighting favorite parks, activities, and suggested improvements that were shared from more than 250 survey respondents. Your input is shaping the process! Stay tuned for a graphic that will illustrate the input collected over the first phase and the translation of that input into specific results and indicators that will guide the remainder of the process.
